The excavations on two Gallo-Roman sites less than 10 kilometres apart, in the districts of Tresnay (Nièvre) and Villeneuve-sur-Allier (Allier), have yielded some interesting sets of terracotta figurines among which prevail the depictions of Venus. Two types of “Vénus à gaine” [sheathed Venus] with the Rextugenos stamp evoke certain more uncommon types distributed mostly in the northwest of Gaul. Traduction : Margaret & Jean-louis CADOUX
